Second marriage George Bassett and Sarah Ann Hague registered in Quarter Apr-Jun 1862, Sheffield.

(See George's Probate record, where Sarah's brother is named Hague, which, of course, he would be.)

George married his first wife Sarah Hodgson in 1842 and they had eight children. After Srah's death George

married again and had two sons.

We live in GBs former house on Norfolk Road. He had it built in 1851 after purchasing the land from the Duke of Norfolk. Still in very good nick. Have the original handwritten deeds from then and later transactions ...

Trebor Bassett Ltd. (formerly Geo. Bassett & Co.) formed March 1990, since 1989 wholly owned subsidiary of Cadbury Schwepps.

Producing favourite sweets, Trebor Exra Strong Mints; Soft Mints; Soft Fruits; Liquorice Allsorts; Jelly Babies;  Maynards Wine Gums; Cadbury's Chocolate Eclairs. 

 

No mention of Dolly Mixtures.

In Bassett production since the 1950's. They probably hadn't long been in production when my Auntie Kitty (Kitty Short) who worked there in the 1950's  gave me a very large box of for my birthday.
