Pub Updates

Lord Rancliffe Arms , Lord Street, Anson Street, it seems to switch from one to the other.

Was it on a corner?

1845 updated.to A to Z.

Don't know if the pub was on it or not but there was a junction between Lord Street and Anson Street.

Anson Street (part of it is still there) went from South Street Park to Duke Street Lane.

Lord Street went from Anson Street to Long Henry Street.

Map from around 1903

Edit. See correction. Next post

A slight correction vox.

Anson Street crossed Duke Street Lane and continued to Duke Street.

Heres some named ones from White's 1845 (inc some new ones??):

Wright John, beerhouse, Golden Fleece, court 80 Fruit market

Just to add spice - I'm now passing comment from the bottom one upwards ...

Wright John, beerhouse, Golden Fleece, court 80 Fruit market

2 Golden Fleece premises, High Street/Market Place and 12 Wharf Street - no doubt UKL has them combined.

On my 1845 Whites I've got John Maw the Golden Fleece, 12 New Haymarket.

Maybe this is a new one or it belongs to 12 Wharf Street /. . now I am confused
