Pub Updates

I'll go along with that, I've found one or two myself in this way in which it says it's a beer house but

under more scrutiny it turns out to have a title to the house but whether it's licenced as such . . ?

Any and all such are acceptable to me.

As those are the only named pubs in the beerhouse listing from the 1845 Whites, is the cross referencing of address' enough proof of an owner?

For instance (just at random):

Lyall Thomas, 8 Sussex street is listed.

If I search the index for '8 Sussex' I find:

Gas Tank Inn

Address 8 Sussex Street

Open

Thoughts?

Thank you, updated to A to Z

312 West Bar - is that 312 Shalesmoor, the one with the tunnels to the River ? 312 West Bar; didn't think/know West Bar had numbers that high ... or am I mistaken ?

Sorry, my mistake, should have been Shalesmoor as on A to Z.

Bull's Head, 24 Cross Smithfield - known from 1797 but only one keeper Charles Fox (1871).

The Bull's Head at Cross Smithfield is numbers 29 Cross Smithfield on the A toZ

but on the census it is 24-26. My ancester is Charles Fox and on the census / documents is 26

Cross Smithfield.

But going back to the Bull's Head and Elijah Eyre , the early Eyre family ran the Red Lion at Smithfields.

Is this the same Ball we are talking about?

Oborne Street is Pitsmoor, I've come across the Ball [Old Blue Ball ] at Hillsborough

being classed as Hillfoot????
