deejayone
Just come across this nice little site: http://museum.woolworths.co.uk/ A complete history of Woolworths stores, both UK and US.
docmel
What a brilliant site - spent far too much time on it! - which is always the best indicator how good a site is Thanks very much for finding this
mickjj
Yeah I came across it a couple of weeks ago (see picture of haymarket under construction http://www.sheffieldhistory.co.uk/forums/i...p?showtopic=174 in history chat section). I ended up spending a couple of hours going through each page, just a great site.
DaveH
The link in post #1 now just gives a server error and cannot connect. Presumably the Woolworths museum has gone the same way as Woolworths itself. What a great pity if it has. Woolworths are a part of 20th Century social history and could be celebrated as such with an online museum website, even though their business sadly no longer exists. DaveH
strange - it works for me . I used the link I had put on the site too. Even stranger Lyn 1 now that I have tried it again. If I use deejayone's link from post #1 I always get the error message. If I use your link straight after the same error happens. However if I clear the history and cookies and Internet history and then use your link it works, - straight to the Woolworths museum. However once I try deejayones link again the same problem returns. Anyway thanks for the link and at least I know how to get it to work now.
