Anyone got any idea ?

Back to backs and built on quite a hill. If you think that the other side of the houses on the left look like those on the right. That's Sheffield for you.

Somewhere near the old Infirmary may be.

Otley Street?

Off the top of my head I can't place Otley Street (I should have an old Shefield A-Z at hone and at work, but I don't); however, we've worked out it's near the Infirmary and we have provided a Map resource, I know where this Street was (roughly) and the Street name but I can never find anything on the Maps, maybe a Maps person can assist with a lst of maps surrounding the Infirmary area, particularly a place that was known by the name of XXXXXX while it existed - this and many other Streets were levelled to make way for the XXXXXX XXXXX.

XXXXXX XXXXX = Kelvin Flats, I think?

Map link ... #30 & 31 may be of use, also #29

Nice work with Kelvin, Thanks, no idea how you work out which Street this is, privately owned photo.

Loks like Burgoyne Rd., or Wood street area to me

Both are steeper than this Street ... right area, wrong street.

31 has it.

The gentle curve is deceptive. not shown on the map; got to trust the photographer as to where it is.

Judging from the map I'd say the original caption on the photo was incorrect; I'll accept any decent answer that matches the photo; then we can argue about it a bit lol (before I was born, just, probably ...)

Same area in 1988

It's on that map !!! Initially thought we were in the cellar of Kelvin Flats but, apparently not.

It's Kelvin Street - or just possibly Carnarvon Street .

Whatever it is, by the lay of the land. I'd say it runs roughly parallel to Infirmary Rd

If it's Carnarvon Street it's not the part that's shown on

map #31, there are too many houses in the L/H side of the photo for it to be.

It may be the section that can be seen at the top of map #30.

Carnarvon Street is correct (according to the photographer, who should know ... which is nice ...)

Well done.
