The graveyard round the church was closed in 1857 and subsequent burials for St Philip's parish were in Wardsend Cemetery (there was a small number of burials in existing plots in the churchyard up to 1912).

Looking at the published burials, which go up to 1905, there are the following numbers for the two surnames you are interested in...

HOWSON 25 (1 pre-1857)

BAMFORTH 41 (6 pre 1857)

Given these numbers we really need some more details of the particular individuals you are looking for.

(12 Herries Road is a euphemism for what had been the workhouse and is now the Northern General Hospital)

There is no memorial on this grave.

There is at least one burial at Wardsend connected to this family:

27 Rudyard Rd was the address of this family in the 1901 census.

Doris BAMFORTH provides the link with the HOWSON family, since she married William H HOWSON:

GRO Marriages SEP Qtr 1921

Bamforth Doris (spouse: Howson) Eccleshall B 9c 928

Howson William H (spuse: Bamforth) Ecclesall B. 9c 928

I cannot find burials for this couple.

I picked up a little book on eBay a while ago entitled The Old Churchyards of Sheffield. It ends with an epitaph from a grave in St Philip's Churchyard, from 1844

Here lies the body of John Kidd

In eternal realms his soul is hid

A railway engine did him kill

And crushed his poor head so ill
