madannie77
You can never have too many photos of this bus, or any Sheffield Transport or SYPTE bus, for that matter. Another great shot, andyrad. The livery is a little inappropriate for The Wednesday

andyrad
Does anyone remember when Catherine Howard was used on a TV programme called "Going Places" I think it was presented by Johnny Ball. It was based all around South Yorkshire and transported kids around who were doing some sort of transport study for school

Lemmy117
Yes your right 287 was used for hieght test and grab tests on the ring road, Ill dig but I understood after 287 was used at yrok it went to an export dealer . ill look it up I was on the Supertram gauging run when it went down Netherthorpe Road. The railway inspector called for an open top bus and had it parked in the 'fast' lane From the top deck he leaned out holding an umberella to see if he could reach the wire, which had been isolated temporaorily. Needless to say all was well and the run continued when the power was restored. That would be about late '94 early '95 as the tram opened to Shalesmoor in Feb '

Peter Hall
On 24/05/2009 at 22:01, Guest transit said: ............lets hope Sheff United win tomorrow !!!!! and repeat this !!!!!!.........COME ON BLADES !!!!!!!!! Although slightly off topic but it is an open top bus with seemingly quiet an association with the Sheffield area. KTF 591 originally belonged to Morecambe & Heysham Corporation which amalgamated with Lancaster Corporation in 1974. By the early 1980's it was seeing us as a sightseeing bus in London. At some point it was acquired by Wades's furniture stores for us as a promotional vehicle. Seemingly being locally based in the late 1980's. By the time the above picture was taken, in I presume 2006, the bus was again locally based in the ownership of Bottles and Booze of Chesterfield. It seems it was quite a familiar sight locally in that era. In 2009 it returned to Morecambe when acquired by the Morecambe Heritage Bus Company who used it for Sea Front sights seing trips in Morecambe and Blackpool. Perhaps the name 'Agatha Christie' is now carried as recognition of the intrigue currently surrounding it. Anyone else got any pictures of KTF 591 in and around the City?
