Red Closed - Green Open

This is "Work in Progress", post any additions at the end, will add Open Toilets later

Below is the post that started this strange quest lol

Where in Sheffield is there a "Ex Gents Urinal" that is now a YEB (or what ever its called nowadays) Sub Station.

It has a roof now which it did not a few years ago

Old proverb say

Never use a live substation as a urinal <_<

Modern warning just says

Danger, High Voltage, Risk of death. :o

Apparently its also a good idea at the railway station not to urinate on the "third rail" ;-)

Yes but they have used an old urinal as a sub station :)

Here is a a couple of photo's as proof,

Previously with my photo,s I have left clues as to the location, therefore this one has been de-sensitised of clues.

The enlargment is the lintel above the bricked up door.

I had the wife convinced this was a clean, polite and helpful place. Now I'm looking at Gentlemens toilets, whatever next.

It's a public toilet!! Do you mean SENSITISED or do you mean SANITISED ?

Nice to see that you didn't get arrested for loitering around a public toilet with a camera :o

With that blue background it's obviously from the new Star Trek movie; with a soundtrack of Zappa's "Why does it hurt when I pee ?"

To get back to the point, after 12 posts has anyone had a sensible guess at the answer yet?

I'm afraid I'm barred from entering this one as me and Stuart were discussing this in the pub over a drink and he told me the answer.

So come on, somebody have a guess!

I can only think of 4 urinals :

Mushroom Lane, stone built

South Road, Walkley, stone built

Town Hall, down some steps

Those on Wimbledon Common where I was arrested ...

If you look hard enough there are loads of disused public toilets about, I don't claim to be an expert, lol

Steve you must know this, only because of where it is lol

In recent years public toilets have got a lot of bad press and a bad reputation, but not so many years ago they were everywhere just like drinking fountains in parks, telephone boxes, etc etc. This particular one suprised me that it was still there.

Lets be serious!!

Perhaps they intended the urinal function to be used as part of the fire protection system.

Just a thought.

Perhaps we could do a list of ones that are still open, for us aging types whose waterworks aren't what they were!
