I didn't know it used to be in the Cambridge Arcade but it's not there now or

at Nichols Buildings or at Meadowhall. lol

I think Steve deserves a special award of merit for coming up with Cambridge Arcade and producing a picture of the exact clock in situ on Cambridge Arcade which is available on Sheffield History.

I still think that today it is in a pawnbrokers / auctioneers place.

Yes well done Steve, I hadn't a clue where it had been hung before I saw it hung at |*^"?* X ;-)

The only road I can think of that ends in X is Lennox Rd

Nice one vox,

That box on that downfall pipe even obscures the red postal district (eg, S6) in the bottom corner.

So you're not even giving us that clue! <_<

Sorry Chaps I've miss-led you. - My Sense of humour again I'm afraid.

I just painted the road name (that UkeLass said it was on) onto a picture of a road sign.

Well I thought it was funny anyway

I don't actually know where UkeLass's clock is but I think it aught to be in Kelham Island Museum.

That's exactly where it is vox, well done. lol

So ukelele lady's mystery clock #11 is in Kelham Island and is dodgy because it has somehow turned up there after being pictured in Cambridge Arcade years before.

Vox's mystery clock #10 is still unsolved.

Here's a 60 foot clue.

It's on a main road going out of Sheffield

Could it be Sacred Heart Church in Hillsborough?

I thought you'd got it there jmdee, so I checked on Street View, and there's no clock. I could happily have sworn there was!

St. Cuthbert's, Barnsley Road, Fir Vale.

HD

P.S. The Church of the Sacred Heart is built in red brick.

That was my first suggestion to vox but it seems not.

I haven't got a second suggestion .. . . yet.

Having checked on Street View it looks as if HD is correct, St.Cuthbert's.

St Cuthberts it is

Not a dodgy clock but a dodgy shaped church. It has the tower stuck on the side like an afterthought.

Maybe there are lots of others like this, I don't know.

That solves all oustanding dodgy mystery clocks.

Next one up will be mystery clock #12.

The tower does look newer than the main building. So, consulting Pevsner...Church built 1901-1905, tower built 1959!

A NEW MYSTERY FOR MYSTERY CLOCK #2

You may remember from earlier posts in this topic that MYSTERY CLOCK #2 was St. MARY'S CHURCH

But recently there have been some mysterious changes to the foreward facing clock dial

The front dial is boarded up.

The other 3 dials are not affected.

The clock is still working.

The clock is telling the correct time.

Wayne Beckett has not been seen or heard of for the last 30-odd years!

So what has happened to this clock? What are they doing to it?

A new clock mystery <_<

The boards are covering where the St. Mary's Church clock was,

the clock (one of four) has been removed and sent away for servicing.

Nice on Bayleaf

That rounds that one off then.

Servicing and maintainence <_<

So where is Wayne Beckett when you need him!

35 years ago that would have been a job for Peter Harrison and his Norfolk School team of clock repairers.
