A coconut for the building but not for the Ant and Dec connection

Hilldweller gets a second coconut here for indirectly solving the "What's dodgy about City Road cemetry clock?" problem.

Hilldweller correctly points out that many clocks have several dials which face in different directions.

City Road Cemetry has 2 dials

One faces out into City Road, - great, nothing wrong with that at all.

But look at my picture again.

My picture, and interestingly SteveHB's picture as well, both show the other dial which faces into the cemetry. Both pictures were taken inside the cemetry.

Now that makes this a very dodgy clock as it looks out onto a burial ground.

The only people anywhere near it are dead and buried :o

Why do they need to know the time?

So thats that sorted, Ant marketing are in the building that was once the Sheaf Quays pub which was once Sheaf Works.

So whats dodgy with City rd Cemetery clock

and

We need a clue for the clock thats no longer a clock

Hilldweller has just solved the dodgyness of the City Road clock.

The picture shows the ANTerior face of the clock which is there only to serve the dead.

I can't give a bigger clue on the clock that isn't because if I pull the camera back to include more of the building it becomes a dead give away.

Go on then Stuart, as you're dying to know this one I will put you out of your misery.

At last we have it!

Mystery Clock number 6

For anyone interested in having a go (I don't know how easy or difficult this one is going to be) here's a little quiz.

Where is this mystery clock?

OK, the clock is no longer there and has been removed / stolen, although its position on this building is still apparent.

As an extra clue (if it is one) I don't know how long the clock has been gone but when it was there it never worked , - certainly not in the last 40 years or so. Locals used to call it "the quarter past seven clock" because its hands had stopped at that time and displayed it for years.

Frecheville community Centre ?

syrup,

Surely you don't watch Ant & Dec's Saturday Takeaway do you? :o

Shame on you! :o

Now if the BBC wanted 2 really good local lads to present their programs they could get "Stuat & Dave"

If the BBC read this we are open to offers,

But make it more than £15,000,000 a year because that's what you waste our licence fee money on hiring the likes of Jonathan Ross and Terry Wogan and they are both crap, - we are much better than them.

Sadly i dont have time to watch Saturday evening TV programs as i am getting ready to go out, It seems to take a lot longer nowdays to get ready. I just came upon the photo while researching the Ant + Dec clue.

And how i did not get that Sheaf Works Clock ???

Television is an invention that allows you to be "entertained" in your own home by the sort of people that you would never want in your house. lol

Yesterday television was an invention that allowed me to watch England lose (they all deserved to be taken off and a team selected from the crowd) in the kitchen on a tiny portable while the wife whipped herself into a mental frenzy 20 minutes befoe the game even started - with plenty of references to her netball exploits half a century ago; I didn't mention I used to do the triple jump in the arena at Hillsborough Park, did I ?

Here's Rooney, with a hop, skip and a very expensive jump ending with a tremendous prima-donna fall over; he was soooooooo close and it only cost £14,593 for the 16 seconds it lasted ...

A NEW MYSTERY FOR MYSTERY CLOCK #2

You may remember from earlier posts in this topic that MYSTERY CLOCK #2 was St. MARY'S CHURCH

But recently there have been some mysterious changes to the foreward facing clock dial

The front dial is boarded up.

The other 3 dials are not affected.

The clock is still working.

The clock is telling the correct time.

Wayne Beckett has not been seen or heard of for the last 30-odd years!

So what has happened to this clock? What are they doing to it?

A new clock mystery <_<

I noticed that as well Dave. I've been meaning to get a few photos.

I think they must be changing the "odd one out" blue face to match the other 3.

(Although I would have thought that this could be done in a couple of days.)

It's been boarded up for quite a while now hasn't it ?

The forward facing dial (boarded up) is not the blue dial (see photo in previous posts) but one of the others is blue.

However, of the 4 dials only the boarded up one is rear illuminated from within the tower at night.

The other 3 dials are solid structures but the boarded up one is made up in a similar fashion to a stain glass window (but without the coloured stains) from sections of intricately shaped glass held in a metal support frame.

If some of the glass has become broken it could have been boarded up to prevent wind and rain getting in, like you would with a broken window.

The nature of the size and shape of the glass pieces would probably make it a longer job to make replacement pieces.

Could it be this?

Just a thought / idea.

Here's a clock - on a main road. Very visible.

So it's mystery clock #10

Hope there's something dodgy / unusual about it as well for added interest.

Not Rawson Springs UkeLass

Nothing dodgy Dave unless you count the fact that I've passed it for years and never noticed it.

(It's more likely my observation that's dodgy though.)

While we're pondering on vox's clock, heres's another one.

Apologies for it being blurred , either I was too hasty or there's a fault with the camera.

So, this Mystery Clock #11 from ukelele lady.

Where is it?

It is in J. Jones ltd, Jewellers (wherever that is, - Castle Market I think?)

Whats dodgy about it?

Well, buy the look of the picture, its in a shop window.

Is it really a Jewellers shop or is it a pawnbrokers?

Has someone left it there to get a few quid?
