Very interesting; is The York, 247 Fulwood Road and The York, Broomhill the same place ? it would appear so. Two Pubs to be combined, data updated etc.

We have William Edward Sharman in 1911, Frederick Battison in 1925, the site extends some dates from our known keepers..

Great find Vox.

I've combined the two and also added these new dates onto A to Z

1907 Miss Maude Askew

1910 William Edward Sharman

1912 , 13 James C Bosworth

1916, 17, 19, 20 John Clark

1921, 22 Horace James Webb

The Millhouses, Abbeydale Rd

Noticed this pub is now closed with a "For Sale" sign up

Courtesy of Google SV

Edit - vox

From their Facebook page

After being closed for two years, The Millhouses has received a stunning make over and is now open to the public.

Description

The Millhouses, on Abbeydale Road, which started life as the Millwrights Arms, has benefited from a total transformation to put it at the heart of the local community as a place to meet and enjoy good food, popular real ales and a selection of champagnes.

The pub has been re-developed by South Yorkshire company WL Leisure in conjunction with Enterprise Inns, the national pub and tenant lease company.

The Shoulder of Mutton, Worrall

The Pheasant at Oughtibridge closed Thursday [ 15th Sept ] night.

The Admiral Rodney at Loxley will be closing soon but only for refurbishment so I'm told.

Now that's different.

ALL NOW REOPENED

I don't know if this one has been mentioned but it's a nail in the coffin for the High Greave at Ecclesfield.

It won't be serving spirits anymore , It's rumoured it will soon be taken over [ or under ] by a funeral company.

The idea is to have the building as a meeting place before and after the funeral.

Just heard that the Crown at Walkley, after opening and closing a couple of times over the last few years, is now well on it's way to being converted into houses or flats.

It's a joke isn't it?

A funeral place, - won't be serving spirits.

You just couldn't make that sort of thing up.
