DaveH
I've updated the main record for all of these (up to time of posting), except : Old Mill, Earsham Street Signpost, Andover Street Legends Bar, High Street Captive Queen Moseleys - can't find it ! Pinegrove Counrty Club (never was on the list) Fellbrigg Generally this is because they don't exist on our list (bear in mind the original "End date" was intended to be 1951). Captive Queen and Fellbrigg (and also the Horse and Lion which you didn't mention in this list) were all on the Norfolk Park estate, built in the mid 1960's so these 3 are after your 1951 cut off point. The Horse and Lion is on the list and therefore updated, though I'm not sure why it made it onto the list - I think it ws an early 80's phone list that was added.. SteveHB
Just a pointer about the Google copyright and it's terms of use. See this post by Jeremy Looks like we need to keep the copyright watermark intact and add a bit of text. Would say that adding 'Image from Google Street View' will be adequate, what do others think? Chris1943
If this isn't the saddest thing I've seen I don't know what is. All those lost pubs of Sheffield - its like a piece of my life gone. Where are all those non-smokers who were going to pack them all out when the ban came in?

I'd appreciate it if you, and everyone, could keep me updated on Pub closures/re-openings, I'm not exactly local (since 1981; been a while) - but I am interested. Very much so. Are Pubs closures highlighted in The Star ?

Very much so. Are Pubs closures highlighted in The Star ? I think they are too regular an occurrence to write about Richard. They get a mention if there's a story attached. A while ago The Rose House on South Road was advertising the lease for a penny. That made the papers and look North as well. It's still open by the way, but I don't know if they did sell the lease or not.

Guest carlie167
This is so depressing!! I had no idea so many pubs had closed, I knew a lot had gone by the wayside, but really, so many. Its very sad. :(
vox
Maybe someone remembers or perhapse Richard can look on his list. Did one of these (or both) used to be a pub. They're on Walkley Street. I'm sure I remember coming out of the Royal and walking across the road to another pub. It's a long time ago. There seems to be evidence of possible filled in cellar access outside both. They're both also quite large buildings.
