I am sure the two lions were either side of the stairway at the center of the stage! W/E.

They were indeed. Sir Thomas Beecham hated them !

Thankyou S24. We would climb on those two lions trying to put our heads in their mouths. It would be 1953 and I was nine years old, We were rehearsing for the Scout Pageant " Send Her Victorious". Happy day's. W/E.

You’re welcome.

I remember them well, although, I never got as close to them as you did :)

May 1973 - The Sweet (support was Harpoon)

June/July 1973 _ Garry Glitter (Support was Hello)

C July 1978 - Mannfredd Mann's Earth Band

Also according to the Black Sabbath website the 1978 gig with Van Halen was March 1st (opening date of the tour. Sabs blew the fuses and Van Halen who at the time were the unknown support were just a bunch of over the top show offs - shows how little I know!)
