RICHARDB SO THIS IS WHERE THE SOUND OF MUSIC ORIGINATED I WOULD IMAGINE , THOMAS WILLIAM DEY ,WAS LILLIAN DEY'S FATHER I BELIEVE, SHE RAN THE SCHOOL OF DANCING ON PITSMOOR RD [WHERE I HAD MY FIRST DANCING LESSON] SHE WAS A BIG GIRL, AND USED TO PULL HER PUPIL LIKE A CART HORSE ,THIS PLACE WAS LATER TO BECOME THE MOJO CLUB RUN BY PETE STRINGFELLOW.

SKEETS, PS. AS FOR OSBOURNE HOUSE, IT WAS RUN, DURING THE WAR , AS A HOME FOR NAUGHTY GIRLS, BY NUNS . AND THOSE MISSING SLATES ,WERE NOT DISLODGED BY THE WIND, NOTE HOW THEY WERE REMOVED EITHER SIDE OF THE LEAD VALLEY, FOR EASEY REMOVAL[MOST LIKELY SOMEONE HAD A JOB FOR IT, BUT WERE DISTURBED] WITHOUT DAMAGE, MOST LIKELY IT IS 6/9 POUND LEAD SO WILL BE VERY COSTLY. SKEETS

it's no longer the councils' decision, twas they who flogged it on seven years ago. It went for £100,000 then, buyer unknown. It is a terrible shame it is still such a wreck.

Some photos of Osborn House taken in 2010 on the Derelict Places website.

I appear, once again, to have put some effort into this but have no idea about it now.

I notice this posting as I am John Henry Larder`s grand daughter! My daughter plays traditional fiddle professionally and teaches as do I but woodwind and so carry on the tradition.

Great to hear from a relative of someone on the lists. I'm not related to anyone on here, just finding "stuff" and entering it up on here in the hope that someone like you finds it and makes a connection or maybe finds an address or some dates they didn't know about previously.

Welcome to the Site Bassoon - hope you can add to our collective knowledge of Sheffieldness or you can pose us some questions to ponder on.
