Sheffield City Centre Masterplan 2013
Comment on the new Plan at http://sheffield-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal/city_centre_masterplan/city_centre_master_plan_2013?pointId=1368097464238. Give your support to an investigation of the Castle.
There is also a presentation of the Plan in the Winter Gardens on 17 and 18 May.

So what's the difference between a "plan" and a "masterplan"?

Don't we really need "a cunning plan"?

I'd take any kind of plan at the moment! Apart from the one that involves knocking everything down and building things that need to be knocked down themselves in 20 years.

Indeed Dave, but doesn't 'cunning' imply some degree of intelligence and foresight?

Given the current state of the Moor and the Sevenstone saga, this smacks of flights of the imagination to help forget what a mess the city centre is. I wonder if it involves demolishing Sevenstone as soon as it's built (should it ever be?)

Talk on Sheffield Castle Tuesday 27 May, 1pm

By kind permission of Sheffield Museums Trust, Dr Glyn Davies of the Friends of Sheffield Castle will repeat his intriguing talk in activity room 3 at Weston Park Museum. Such was the interest shown last time some 40 odd people were turned away due to space constraints – please note that sixty places are available for Glyn’s talk and booking is essential – send an email tobigronclayton@hotmail.co.uk

The talk lasts some 40 minutes, followed by questions, is illustrated and is delivered by the last archaeologist to carry out work on the enigmatic site of Sheffield’s lost castle – it is also a great opportunity join FOSC and learn about their activities.

The ARCUS (Archaeological Research and Consultancy at the University of Sheffield) Report 669b(1) was prepared by Michael McCoy and Mark Stenton, with illustrations by Marcus Abbott. It represents perhaps the most in depth assessment of the Castle ruins currently available.

With kind permission of the University, the report is now available on the Friends of Sheffield Castle website
