His daughter and the wife of Revd. Alfred Gatty

And the remains of the man himself, Revd. Alfred Gatty Vicar of Ecclesfield and Sub-Dean of York

That is interesting. Gatty reveals very little of his personal life and circumstances in his book, A Life at one Living. He arrived in Eccclesfield in the autumn of 1839 and perhaps he brought his father-in-law to live with him.

Wow that's scary! :o

http://www.zonnewijzer.co.uk/index.htm

includes Biographies of Alexander John Scott, one states that he died in Catterick and one Ecclesfield! Though Ecclesfield appears to be the correct one :

Thans OKSL - we used to live on High Greave Avenue in the 1970s and that picture of the Haulage Contractors was an unwelcome reminder ;-). I remember thinking how nice it would be if it wasn't there - in the event - we moved before they did. Now I think what a shame another local business gone! lol It was very noisy and dirty though ;-)
