Think we are all getting a bit caught up now!! :)

Here is a pic of The Stonehouse.

Sturton Rise - can we call this 'Osagathorpe'

We've had this one before on another thread - on row of shops at Page Hall

I am suprised you have not seen it, given the area you frequent :)

Past Copper street going towards town, right on the corner of Gibralter st and the ring road almost opposite the Shakespeare.

At the moment when I'm walking past its dark but I will see what I can do

Although its not marked, it is 175 (coloured red)

Is this the building we're talking about?

If so , I've wondered for years what it used to be.

So now I'm confused, I always thought this building was the church hall.

The blue door is on Cupola and the other side of the building is on Copper Street. We used to go to Sunday school

there or did this used to be a school??

My knowledge is purely the Date Stone on the building.

Well, looks like I'm in with a shout of having the earliest so far then. Would be useful to have a definitive list on the OP.

There's the building at the side of the old fire station where the old music hall use to stand, when I passed the otheday by bus it looked like 1794. Is it part of the car dealers next door???

Also Salvation Army Infirmary Road 1909.

I've seen this building No. 199, think it will be West Bar, not sure where Gibralter St starts.

At 1st glance it looks like 1794, closer examination it looke like j794, need to take photo and post it, always seems to be dark when I walk past.

Looks like we can go with 1794 for this one, 117/119 Westbar

Is this the oldest one in the City Centre so far?

There is a stone built in to the wall on the Footprint works on Hollis Croft that has the same type of writing as the stone on West Bar. Could be 1740?

Sorry, I meant 1750.

Sorry, I meant 1750.

Interesting,

Same style, same period but predating the calendar change by 2 years.

That leading digit definately has the J or 1 look but this time I read it and see it as a 1.

Perhaps it is just an 18th century style of lettering and what appears as a modern J really is a 1

In either case I don't think there is any doubt about the date.
