There were Phoenix Works in Rotherham and Ridgeway, plus this one in Sheffield: Longden, Henry (iron and brass founders and ornamental stove grate, kitchen range, hot air). Maskew withdrew soon after and Henry Longden ( a scissor maker & ardent Methodist) brought in a new souce of Capital. In 1802 the firm relocated all its activities to its Thorncliffe site the foundry was taken over by Barlow & Co who operated there until 1818. Longden's son was bought out of the firm by N&C and in 1819 took over the Phoenix Foundry from Barlow in partnership with a Mr Walker.
