Sheffield History
Have found this photograph of the Railway Mission Hall. The photo is listed as Elstree Road but it just doesn't look like Elstree Road at all. What do you think?
madannie77
Certainly not Elstree Road. How about, from Whites 1911 Directory: Railway Mission Hall, between 75 and 81 Ellesmere Road. Marked as Wesleyan Reform Chapel on 1950s OS Map 86 I can't see an image of the chapel on Picture Sheffield, but there is one of nos 79 and 81 Ellesmere Road, which looks very similar to what is visible on the Mission Hall image (the sloping wall and gateway).
