Guest davyg
Does anyone know of where might find details of old Yorkshire Jockeys? Believe we had at least one Jockey in the Robinson family .. Regards Dave
nevthelodgemoorowl
My Uncle, Bernard Wragg rode for the Russell stables of Mablethorpe prior to the outbreak of the war for which he signed up. He was killed in action at El Alemaine. He perhaps made a bigger name for himself in Boxing as featherweight than he did as Jockey and stable lad. Winning the Mclaghlan (Victor) belt. Until recently the belt had gone into the ownership of P&A at Commonside. He boxed under his own name but also fought under the name Young Nipper Moore.
