Not figured out where it is, but I was puzzled by the 'rubble' in the gutter, until I realised it was good old Sheffield black snow!

Rockingham Street (received via PM) was a good guess Bayleaf, you are warm,

as is RichardS, with "top of the Moor" and RichardB with "Union Street".

Keep trying folks, I will add a clue later.

Found the firm in a directory, but it somehow doesn't look right.

I found Brady's in the 1925 Kelly's, and earlier directories.

Brady Henry, rope & twine manufacturer. 2 & 4 Furnival Street.

Brady Henry, rope & twine manufacturer. Moorhead.

Brady Hy. rope & twine mfr. 1 & 3 Porter Street.

Brady John Henry, rope maker. 73 Roe Lane.

Brady Henry, rope mfr. (works) Union Lane.

The location is non of the above, so the photograph was taken in 1925 or later,

I have it down as taken in 1926.

No, missis.

The bloke in the gum boots is stood outside a pub, the pub is still there.

They appear to be much posher than gum boots. The chap wearing them appears to either a military type or someone dressed in a chauffeur's uniform.

Perhaps he is waiting for Madam to return to the limo parked above him.

The stood back building at bottom right of the picture interests me. I wonder if it is Macey's outfitters which stood where the basement entrance to John Lewis is today.

I remember being taken in to there as a small boy for my Whitsuntide new outfit. I remember it as a multi-floored wooden building straight out of Dickens.

Even as a little lad I was glad to get out of there. It looked as though it might catch fire or fall down at any moment.
