Possibly the old fire station on Division Street.

Answering my own question. Simmilar, but not correct.

Sorry, wrong side of town

I'm thinking George Kennings Leadmill Road

I see where you are coming from, but sorry no.

Think a bit more in a northerly direction, and any fisherman must have seen this building :)

Stanley Street and I think it's called Stanley House.

Only Bayleaf's mystery gates left

Link to Bayleaf's Gates

Another challenge comes to mind here

Stuart0742's last mystery location featured a 1930 dated stone and DaveH's a 1935 stone.

There must be many buildings in or around Sheffield with stones like this, for example that funny little arcade between Leopold Street and Fargate that opened in 1987 has a fairly high and prominent dated stone saying, well, 1987.

The Challenge,

Can we find dated stones in the area for every year from the present back as far as goodness knows when?

We don't particularly need pictures for this, just a list by year of the building name and location.

One rule,

For those people who like walking around old cemetries, monumental headstones and gravestones are not allowed,- that's cheating and makes it far too easy.

I like this one Dave, I'll keep my camera to hand!

Like the one that was once Freidrich's pork butchers on the corner of Willey Street,

in the background of Stuart0742's photo.

Dated 1904

What did Stanley House used to be

No idea Stuart,

but one time I used the newspaper shop next door

on a daily basis.

I'm in that area tomorrow,

so if Jim still owns the shop I will pop in and ask him
