Guest Jeremy
Sheffield 1823 by John Leather Scanned from a photocopy of an original print. I think that this was originally published in a book called 'The Picture of Sheffield' in 1824. Stuart0742
Heres a more modern Map Ordnance Survey SK38 2.5 inch map from 1958 The grids on this map are equal to a group of 4 on the main Ordnance survey maps on the main section, hence will make a good index sheet, see post 1 on main section. neddy
The Bacon 1920's map is showing Parkwood Springs as it would have been c1880 no Beatrice Place no Douglas Terrace are we sure of it's date.

Stuart0742
The Bacon 1920's map is showing Parkwood Springs as it would have been c1880 no Beatrice Place no Douglas Terrace are we sure of it's date. The population figures quoted on this map (bottom left part) are for 1901 & 1891, obviously census date, the whole layout of the map looks very similar to other late 19c colour maps. If it is a 1920's map, (can't myself see where 1920 is mentioned) "Bacon" must have just re-used an older map.
