Thank you Richard , it can't be Attercliffe then can it.

I've seen something as the address Dunford Bridge, Attercliffe???

You may be thinking of Dunford Fire Protection Services, 178 Attercliffe Road. They made the headlines for all the wrong reasons many years ago. Much to their embarrassment most of the premises were destroyed by fire. W/E.

Another possible explanation could be Dunford Hadfields which was where Meadowhall now is.

Perhaps Dunford Bridge was a local name for one of the bridges around there. :)

Perhaps this is a completely off the wall suggestion, but is it definitely Dunford Bridge? Any chance of a transcription error, there being a Pinfold Bridge in Attercliffe.

It's me again , I'm lost.

Where is / was Railway Street, could it be Blackburn?

Railway Street, first right just over the bridge on Rock Street. It was opposite the bottom of Pye Bank Road. W/E.

Thank you W/E, I looked in a 60s A to Z but it wasn't in . I would have thought it still existed in the 60s.
