dunsbyowl1867
A bit before my time! I know this isn't from Sheffield, I found it in an old book. I was wondering - was this a special cheaper "Workman" ticket? Would these have been common to all cities including Sheffield? If so how did you qualify or how could the conductor tell if you were a "Workman" as opposed to ?
Guest bus man
They were generally a timed ticket ie before say 7am sheffield did have them i think. This is a newcastle upon tyne one i presume the numbers are fare stages as it would be a small amount and i would have throught it would have included a 11d fare presume the colour denotes the fare, as there would be no point in just punching the numbers as there would be no way of auditing it
