I think a similar scheme  was behind Prince of Wales Road as it was described as a Parkway in (I think) 1920.

Wasn’t the City Hall another project to find employment in ajob creation scheme?

I’m sure Prince of Wales Road was built by a majority of out of work miners. Desperate times which I wouldn’t want to have experienced.
