Hello again beemerchez thanks for the pics, its altered quite a lot down there like the rest of Sheff i suppose :)

Time certainly flies I`ve been left the old firm 10 years as of March 2008 :)

I worked at the old BSC Tinsley pk site from 1979 to 1998 and i remember the old pubs i remember the bird and the broughton which i believe became a tool shop called "Alltools" on the corner.

Last autumn went to sheff Railway station as my eldest son was off to Uni, got to the Wicker wondered where i was thats really altered post flood :o

Best Regards M

Hi M

in the second pic you can see K.F.C in the distance, stands between broughton lane

and cliffton st.

if i go passed again i will get you some more pics around there.

but get out of the car this time.lol

i was only 15 when i left carbrook.(pulled the houses down)

i lived at the house at the side of st barts church

1 Newton terrace, you had to go under a very large entry

the Gurnalls lived there as well at the house at the side of the entry.

the house they lived in if i remember rightly.... used to be a work place that made coffins..

hasten to add not when i was there..lol

i have tried searching for a photo but it seems to have vanished off archive's list.

there was the Church about 5 houses the entry,a Garage (Ferns)

then a Beer off (stentans) at the corner of Cliffton street.

standing at the top of our entry looking across the road there was all the shops.

Pork shop, Lants chippy. Gowers then went to Samik motors,Paper shop,

Betting office, Boldocks,Yeomans tabacco shop

and a Pokey hole dark shop Peacocks. to name but a few..

we didn't need town...

I just wish i had took photos back then. :(

but being in my early teens i suppose photography was the last thing on my mind.lol

the Excelsior pub at the top of carbrook st in the 50's my aunty and uncle run that.

for many years.

then further down houses and Jacksons chippy.my nan lived a few house down from the chippy

then the last shop was Ali's Butchers..where my friend Malcolm lived.

more houses then the Carbrook hall pub. which is Still there now.

oppersite what used to be the Phesant pub. now The Stumble inn..

if you want to see any places let me know and i will go on a All our yestudays photo shoot for you

around all the old places so you can see the changes.

i go to Barly wood rd cemetery so not out of my way.

Plus i bet a few on this forum may be interested to see the changes.

more so if they have left this area as yourself..

if anyone reading this would like me to take a couple of pics of places they remember

give me a shout, i'll see what i can do...

please remember im no David Bailey, he he but will do my best.

Hi Barbara,

You might not remember me, but I was on of the Lads who worked at Whitbreads,Shepcote lane, and we used to come in the Enfield at dinnertimes about 1974ish, I went on to work on the Drays, and I deliverd to you at the cannon hall, also when you had the Belvedere in Rotherham, I always seem to remember Pete used to do a lot of outside bars, he used to say, drop us these barrels at the local village hall or other places,i can't remember where, its a long time ago, I worked with a chap called Len on the Drays,he had blond hair, mine was ginger(now grey)lol ,Anyway hope you are keeping well, Best Regards Steve (Ex Whitbreads driver)

Hi Barbara,

Just read your post about the Enfield. Do you remember the lads from A.T.S. Spent many happy hours in the Enfield with you and Pete then followed you to the cannon hall. I only lived around the corner so it was easier to get home after a good night out!

Best wishes F.
