ukelele lady
The Waggon & Horses at Chapeltown has now changed it's name to just Waggon. It has got a new pub sign with Waggon and two large wheels on it. Very modern but I quite like it. I will take a picture when I'm next in the area. History dude
Woodthorpe Arms early 1980's. The pub was orginally a coaching inn as it was on the Mansfield Turnpike Road owned by the Gander Lane Trust. It was also part of the Woodthorpe Hall Estate and is mentioned in the sale catalogues when the Hall is sold off.

RichardB
Probably my fault, I get distracted into other stuff and if you knew how far I was behind Ukelele Lady with what was originally "my baby" then you'd be ashamed on my behalf. Keep the updates coming, each and everyone will receive attention - in my case, that may just take months. My apologies - Census information, i.e. proveable especially welcomed. Thanks Peter and Steve. I have sent in the following details twice now but nothing has been added to the Target 75 St Johns Road. Am doing something wrong? RichardB
Who Can Tell ? Sorry, I'll get mi' coat ! Welcome to the site Roderick. Possibly named after a horse, though that may have been "Why Not" - 1890's if memory serves. My father always claimed it was a local boozer and "Who Can Tell" if you've popped in for a quick one.
