RichardB
On the A to Z you have Greyhound 217-219 Gibralter Street with a Alice Thompson 1881 but on the 1881 census it is Sarah Ann Richards 217-219 Gibralter Street, [The Greyhound Inn] I think Alice lived at 292 Gibralter Street , the Acorn. Shall I change? Well found ! Yes please, any Census beats any Trade Directory. Thank you U/L

ukelele lady
Do you think that the HOPE & ANCHOR, Mowbray Street Bridgehouse Hill and Pye Bank could all be one of the same? In all the books they have never been printed twice as the possibility of there being more than one.
ukelele lady
We have too many Howards on Howard Street ! Got Number 2 and number 59, got to be the same place (renumbering again following developments). Tom Sharp from 1901 to 1925. For Richards consideration, I think The Howard 2 Howard Street should be deleted. Through all the books I've never come up with number 2 Howard Street and the two landlords you have down, Beatson belongs to 57 Howard Street and Richard Guion belongs to Howard Road.he was there in 1868 not at Howard Street. I have updated both the Howards, shall I delete Howard Street number 2? UL

Leaving that one entirely up to you Ukelele Lady since I don't honestly have a clue about either Street/area. Let us know please (here) what you decide to do. Thank you. Let us know please (here) what you decide to do. Thank you. I've merged the two Hope & Anchors on Mowbray Street and Bridgehouses. They both had the same landlords at the same dates so it seems pretty obvious. [ I love this tidying up] :)

Guest ginney
Industry Inn Dun Street, Attercliffe Open 1871 Closed Span Comments Earlier 1871 John Allsop This beerhouse had the publican called William Elliott in 1881 and was listed as 206 & 208 Dunlop Street, Attercliffe. The road name was changed in 1872 as another Dun Street was in Shalesmoor. It was a Joseph Machin who was publican in 1891 and was listed as 205 Dunlop Street. By 1901 and 1911 it was 208 Dunlop Street and the publican was Charles Edward Cartwright.
ukelele lady
Where is / was the pub the Graduate , Montgomery Road ? On the A to Z it says Sheffield 6 but Montgomery Road is Sheffield 7 unless it is meant to be Montgomery Terrace Road which could be S6 or maybe S3. I should know I used to live on there but I've forgot, I was only young at the time but I think it was S3. So where is the Graduate situated. vox
Map 29 OS Maps You can see where No 7 was but it isn't marked as a pub. Edit: Out of interest, map 29 shows clearly how much land was taken when they widened Penistone Rd at that point.

The Montgomery was number 16 on Montgomery Terrace Road , I don't remember it but my brother remembers going in it when it was a home of a neighbour. It wasn't a pub anymore but it still had bits of beer pumps in it.
