All you can see is the cellar but the stone slabs are visible with scored markings in them to stop them slipping also there are two big timbers (oak) which are still solid after 50+ years underground. They were going to dump all the contents before building again so I took the best timber and the best slab which is in the centre of the photo. George Hutcheson, Distiller, sold this and the adjoining house (where he lived) to Joshua Bayes, Cutler. 1690 Bayes sold the properties to Stephen Newton, Butcher of Little Sheffield. Newton and his family had the place until 1788 when Samuel Peech (of The Angel" fame) bought it for £1,500; raising £50 of his own money, the remaining £1,450 was placed on mortgage). 1788 the place was occupied by Mrs Mark Kinder. 1790 the property passed from Samual Peech to John Eyre (££1,600) to Joseph Henson (See also The Bay Horse).
