I don't think we should add these to the existing list as we have plenty on getting those fully investigated, As to where we draw the line, who knows, personally I'd stick with what we have currently and only add finds within Sheffield (difficult I know since it has expanded). I've always excluded Rotherham (maybe a new topic at some point) from my investigations. Sorry, I can't provide a comprehensive answer.
ukelele lady
I have got a Ball Inn 1893 Henry Short 2 Osborne Street but I am reluctant to put it in because what we have down is Oborne Street which is Bridgehouses /Pitsmoor area and Osborne which it said in the Kelly's Trades is the other side of Sheffield. Netheredge I believe. ???

Guest Jeremy
Thanks for the update. Did this have 1860 as opening date ? My original has. Yes it did. I think that it must be an error as it doesn't look like Carlisle Road was built by 1860: only fields on the 1855 OS map; no entries (that I can find) in the 1861 census. ukelele lady
Hi Richard At a second look I can see it's Elizabeth GoodWIN at the Anvil 1839. The Angel , Angel Street 1841 , in both Whites book and Directory of Sheffield it says Ed Hancock ??? Maybe it was in the same year as one moved out the other moved in. We don't know when these books were printed, at the beginning of the year, middle or end? UL

Maybe it was in the same year as one moved out the other moved in. We don't know when these books were printed, at the beginning of the year, middle or end? UL It's not when they were printed but when the data was collected - anything up to a year in advance. I'd think it was a space saving thing, e.g. Ed for Edward; Wm for William etc.

RichardB
These are not merged on the main list ,can you instruct how to do it please? I would edit the Angel, 105 South Street, Moor record as follows (i.e. write down or print the data then remove all the data and provide a link to the "corrected" record.) : --------------------------------------------------- (I've just put these lines in to break this reply up) Angel 105 South Street, Moor Please see Angel/Crown and Anchor, 14 Button Lane --------------------------------------------------- then edit the Angel/Crown and Anchor, Button Lane record to include the data from the Angel, 105 South Street, Moor, so the finished product should look like this (I've put the changed bits in bold, just so you can see what has been changed, no need on the real record): Angel/Crown and Anchor 14 Button Lane or 18-22 Button Lane or 105 South Street, Moor Open 1821 Closed 1956 Span 135 Comments formerly Crown and Anchor until 1902; 1891 Mottershaw (Photographer) Earlier - Holden's 1811 1821 Leonard Cowley 1822 Leonard Cowley 1825 Leonard Cowley/James Goodwin 1828 Leonard Cowley 1833 William Tomlinson 1834 William Tomlinson 1837 William Tomlinson 1841 William Tomlinson 1845 William Tomlinson 1846 William Tomlinson 1849 William Tomlinson 1851 William Tomlinson 1852 William Tomlinson 1854 William Tomlinson 1856 William Tomlinson 1861 William Tomlinson 1862 William Tomlinson 1871 William Tomlinson 1881 William John Church 1891 John William Mottershaw 1893 John William Church 1901 Mrs Mary Jane Church (18-22 Button Lane) 1905 C Matthews 1911 C Matthews 1925 Charles Matthews "1930's" John William Riddin (from J.
