If you look at the top right hand corner of this 1851 map

you will see the Corporation Arms on Middlewood Road.

It is in the exact spot of the now Middlewood Tavern.

Main record updated with a link to your Map. Thank you.

Confession time; I don't even know where Mosborough is; it was quite a task knowing what to include and what not to include.

Thanks for your detailed input Vox.

It's officially Sheffield now (I think.) But it used to be Derbyshire. (I think.) :)

Albion

35 Johnson Street

Open 1839 Closed 1925 Span 86

Comments At least 1839.

Earlier 44 Johnson Street

Hi,

After 1925, I believe it became a rooming house. By the time I knew it in the early 1940, it still had the'Abion' name on the front but had degenerated into dosshouse. Then the hotel and yard were taken over by a light engineering company. No knowledge after 1960 but the site was eventually cleared for Derek Dooley Way.

Do we have a map showing the old Street and the route of Derek Dooley Way anyone please ?
