ukelele lady
Richard It looks like you're mixing your Little Pond Street landlords and your Pond Street landlords under one roof. In my 1839 Robson s Thomas Pinder lives at 40 Little Pond Street and John Watson at 118 Pond Street. In the 1841 Directory of Sheffield Thomas Pinder still at Little Pond Street and John Watson still at 118 Pond Street. Shall I sort? Trust me. You'll wish you had never "employed " me and I'm only on B. UL

UL Non, Je ne regret rein, anyone that can untangle these knots is "Top notch" in my mind ! I put up my view of things (with many peoples help) and, hopefully, people like you (and others, they know who they are) improve on those views - true constructive critisism, it took a lot of work, a long time and a lot of nerve to put up the initial view - better to publish and accept critism/contribution/additional input than to not bother. Yours and everyone's input, great;y appreciated - there are many more "errors" to be put right, but, for every one "we" (collectively) solve it's one less to solve and an increase in the quality of what we have. ukelele lady
Just found another "13 Pond Street" post 156 that ought to be scrapped. I'ts just repeat of the same dates and names that we've already got . It looks like we had four posts with all the same dates and names floating around. If we stick to the two Little Pond Street and Pond Street I think we should crack it. Must get my hair done, I'll be back [tomorrow] ;-)

Possiblity. Which book did it come from, not seen this one. Shall I now re-write Pond Street /Little Pond Street? Also I left out a James Cutts which you had down 1856. I didn't know where to place him because in Directory of Sheffield it's got this 1856 40 Little Pond Street A. Humphrys 118 Pond Street George Stringer. What's the address of your James Cutts? From the 1881 Pawson & Brailsford Map: Very tiny, but you can just make out Wellington Lane running parallel to Wellington Street. It looks to be what is now called Chester Lane.
