In 1904, my Grand-Parents, Harry and Minnie Hague and family, are described as living at, 8 Court 2 Eyre Lane. Not living in Sheffield, this has presented me with a couple of problems. First., how do I read this ?. Is it '8' 'Court 2' 'Eyre Lane' or '8 Court' '2 Eyre Lane', if you know what I mean. Second, would it be possible to obtain a map, or photograph showing this address ?

This link is to an archaeological survey from 2010 at Eyre Lane / Charles Street / Brown Lane / Clay Lane / Eyre Street :

http://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/catalogue/adsdata/arch-1098-1/dissemination/pdf/archerit1-103574_1.pdf

It was a busy place with industry such as whitesmiths, cabinet makers, brass foundry, saw manufactury, cutlery works, engineering works, wire works and a mark makers works operating there at various times.

Also on Eyre Lane was the W&S Butcher works. There is a link to a Butchers Works information sheet on this page:
