The Rose and Crown pub on Waingate, also known as The Britannia pub.

Waingate, 1915-1925, east side between Exchange Street and Lady's Bridge. No 12, Rose & Crown Public House (also known as Britannia), right, Tennant Brothers, Exchange Brewery and W & T Avery in background.

Rose and Crown and Britannia were one and the same, well I never ;-)

Here's how the area looks at the time of writing this. Number 12 Waingate where The Rose and Crown / Britannia pub stood has been flattened.

The side of the Rose and Crown / Britannia pub on Waingate. To the right is Pickfords removals tucked right into the right hand corner up against the pub.
