RichardB
Hi, We (collectively) know the following Pubs existed, we even have an opening year for some of them. However, all of these have one thing in common, we, currently have no information regarding a Landlord/Landlady or "Keeper" of any kind; without names to associate they are just buildings that were around in year "WXYZ". Any information relating to these Pubs from any source, Trade Directory, Alphabetical listings, Year Books, Rates, Census gratefully received. It's not all gloom and doom, the 312 Pubs on this list are falling; I'm just abount to complete a 1901 listing and then it's on to an 1881 listing, further keepers will come to light; the 312 represent 16% of the total list. As before, I've split then down alphabetically "A" Pubs Name, Address, Opening Year if known Acorn 20 Burton Road Adam and Eve 17 Balaclava Street African Prince Lambert Street 1774 Albany Hotel Fargate/Surrey Street 1889 Albion 2 Ellesmere Road Albion 23 Adsett Street 1860 Albion 26 Oxford Street Alexandra 23 Dover Street Alexandra 91 Dunlop Street Amateur's Rest 17 Holly Street Anchor 20 Pea Croft 1833 Angler's Rest 15 Snow Lane 1833 Artillery Man 7 Bridge Street 1833 Ashberry 1 Ashberry Street

RichardB
I think the swineherd one was the one i was thinking about, used to be swine pages, i did copy the list off but didn't keep the link. We have our own, more complete list, right here ! Not so much Lost, as listed, now, to qualify 'em for inclusion in the main lists all we need is to find one keeper per Boozer. The other "Lost Pubs" site(s) might have pictures of Pubs they have found. But, we here at SheffieldHistory will have much, much better than that - more details later, oh, it will need Volunteers (EEEKKK, he's asking for volunteers again !) This will involve creating lots of new posts, Pub name, followed by the address - dead simple, anyone can do it, the hard work has already been done; just create a bunch of postings in alphabetical order (one for each Pub), from a list, in alphabetical order; supplied by me). Example (made up this one) : <New Topic> Red Dragon 22 Acacia Avenue <Post> Once we have an alphabetical listing of the 2,000 Boozers, we can then start plonking links on there to PictureSheffield etc, we also get the Keepers from my listing dropped into the record; so thats Booxer, Address, Dates, Keepers and Pictures all in one place - only way I could improve on this would be a free pint from each .... "Who ordered the 734 Pints of Wards and a bag of Scratchings ?" Now does that sound good, 2,000 Pubs, in alphabetical order, with Landlord/Landladies/Keepers and with links to pictures ?
