dobberd
Taken from the claim site for the Sheffield Flood: Claim 201 The Claimant is the Owner of a number of Cottages situate at Bundekin Road, Pye Bank. They were flooded nearly to the ceiling of the Chambers. The Windows, doors, fillings & Slates of Roof were injured by the Tenants trying to escape. The Tenants were washed destitute - 6 Cottages are still uninhabited. In total he received, £52 6s 6d. As bayleaf remarked indeed a wet question ;-)
sando
Spot on Dobberd and Bayleaf, Now does any one know if the Bishop of Honalulu was previously a resident of Sheffield, or was he placing a claim for someone else who had perished in the flood? Was he really the Bishop of Honalulu or is the name just a nickname similar to the Duke of Darnall? Mark
