LOCATION

Penistone Road - Sheffield

Situated on the corner of Penistone Road and Dixon Street

INFORMATION

Closed by Tetley's. Finally became an office for a Double Glazing Company. The building has been cleaned and restored. It now looks much better than when it was a pub.

hi i remember the royal lancers the pub on the corner. to be honest remember most pubs from back then in quite a few areas. :huh: :huh:

And my Great-Grand-Father lived on the other street in that picture, Dixon Street. My grandfather was born there. Court 2 House 3 Dixon Street, family still there at the time of the 1901 census. GGF didn't make 1901, more of him another day when I gather all the evidence for a real tough family history-type question.

Used the pub a few times when, back in the early 1980s, the landlord was  a coal man ( or had been) from the Darnall area/
