This is probably the most famous one:

Further Comments: Wearing a long black dress, Mary appears in the Turret House and has been seen gliding along corridors and passing through walls

Colonel John Bright

Location: Sheffield - Carbrook Hall public house

Type: Haunting Manifestation

Date / Time: Unknown

Further Comments: A close friend and ally of Cromwell, the well built ghost of Colonel Bright has been observed standing at the top of the stairs. Other ghosts reported here include the sounds of children, an elderly woman from the 1920s, a phantom Roundhead, a monk, and another shadowy figure who throws items around the bar.

Norah the Maid

Location: Sheffield - Firth Park Brushes (former school), Barnsley Road

Type: Haunting Manifestation

Date / Time: Twentieth century

Further Comments: The maid, who committed suicide on the site two hundred years ago, is still said to wander the area. When the high school stood on the area, cleaning staff reported lights that would turn themselves on, amongst other strange phenomena. A priest was called to exorcise the land in 2003; it is too early to say whether he was successful.

Matron

Location: Sheffield - Northern General Hospital, Vickers Corridor

Type: Haunting Manifestation

Date / Time: 2003

Further Comments: At least two members of staff have reported the same 'dream' while sleeping in the staff room - they have awoken to see an angry matron-styled nurse with one hand over the witnesses mouth and the other hand around their neck, trying to strangle them. One witness kicked and screamed before the apparition vanished in the blink of an eye.

No Head

Location: Sheffield - Private residence along Townhead Road, Dore

Type: Haunting Manifestation

Date / Time: 1960s?

Further Comments: A 23 year old woman encountered a phantom woman floating slightly above the floor of her home. The witness said that the entity wore a green Elizabethan style dress, had beautiful hands, and while the base of the neck appeared solid, the top had faded to nothing and the entity had no head. When Dore stood as a village, rather than a Sheffield suburb, the area was believed to be haunted by a young girl upon a white horse.

Walk along the Boardwalk

Location: Sheffield - The Boardwalk, and the Point

Type: Haunting Manifestation

Date / Time: 2000s

Further Comments: Phantom footsteps have been heard moving along the corridor between the stage and the backstage dressing room, and mild poltergeist activity has been reported.
