Coronation Day

Like most people I watched the Coronation on TV. We didn't have a TV till later that year, but an auntie of ours did. Over 30 people were crowded around the twelve inch set and I watched it from my seat on the old wooden draining board. It being wood and wet and having those funny bits scooped out of it, gave me a very soggy and uncomfortable rear end! But to watch the pictures coming all the way from London seemed like a miracle to me. Ok, by today's standards they were terrible, but to us kids it was just amazing. Since then I've been lucky enough to see the first live picture's from France via Eurovision, the first translantic picture's, the first video recording and even pictures from the Moon. Wow! What a change in just 50 years.
