Hi I'm new here and thought you may be interested in some photos I have found.

This first one is 85, Penistone Rd taken in 1970 and one taken inside.

Note the price of a bag of chips, 8d.

Like the pics, cant believe the second one is the 70s. Still seems quite recent to me (showing my age now!)

Got any more please? :)

These next two are on Wood Grove Lane also taken 1970.

The pigeon coops in the background stand out in my memory I used to love seeing them as a child on the bus into town.

And just out of sight at the other side of the bus stop was Tommy Fellows hairdresser,

I helped demolish these houses.

Thanks for sharing the photos. The buildings at the back of the new units on the Maltravers Road side belong to NDT Limited. I started working there in April 1977 and finish in a couple of days time. The two tone car in the car park (far right of picture) is my first car, a 1969 Wolseley 16/60 (same shape as the old Morris Oxford or Austin Cambridge).

Here it is in it's better days!

Park Garage on Derwent St. is still there too.

"Present day" Wood Grove Lane.

Most of what was Wood Grove Lane now lies under Penistone Road dual carriageway, the other bit under the industrial estate but remarkably the background seems very much the same just a lot more greenery.

I like it! ......... now if you can change it to a Ford Corsair?

I must have passed the end of this road hundreds of times on the No. 110/10 bus from Bridge Street but I cant remember it at all.

Ford Corsair? Wasn't that the last Ford to have an electrical system that was positive earth and therefore corroded like mad? Lovely looking car, but when driven on salted slushy roads turned itself into a sort of reverse plating system which caused it to eat itself! Prefered the light blue'grey paintwork model myself!
