LOCATION

Situated on Penistone Road (Near Capel Street, nee. Montagu Road).

INFORMATION

The New Barrack Tavern was once situated where there was a mass of terraced housing and factories. The current building is now best served by Sheffield Wednesday fans on home match days, and by regulars who visit to see live bands on a weekend evening.

The oldest of the pictures below shows the site of the New Barrack Tavern as it was in it's housing days. There was, as pictured, a shop on the site (also pictured later with the New Barrack Tavern) which was removed sometime before the road-widening to make the A61 a dual-carraigeway.
