Guest loopysue
Can anyone point me in the right direction??? I'm looking for info on 'Styrrup' Notts. Another of my 3rd G. Grandfathers ran a public house there (White swan Inn) He was actually the licenced Victuhaller and farmer. (Joseph Crabtree. b.1833) We have visited the village recently but unfortunately the White Swan was closed up. (not sure if it only opens at night or it's shut up altogether?) The actual village is really small so we are having difficulty in finding any history on the place, it seems that all the villages round it are mentioned but not styrrup. It was on 1861 census that he is first mentioned as the Victuhaller of The White swan up until 1881. Are there any sites like we have on Sheffield (cos this one is fantastic!) in Nottinghamshire???
