That's the one

I knew the record shop as 'Ians'

Sold mostly 12" remixes and was a real treasure trove to nightclub dj's

The old Police Station was at the Bottom of Burgoyne Road and in the 50's and 60's became a Dentist think the bloke what had it was called Ball.

It was a partnership between Goodley and Ball. Mr Ball has died within the last couple of years.

The Unity cinema was on Langsett Road opposite the Kelvin Flats between Wood Street and Gertrude Street. I do not have a picture of it as a cinema but this shows the building in its latter days before it was demolished. The Mecca Bingo building and car park now occupy the area.

This building was the Sheffield Furnishing Company at one time. I used to go with my nan to pay weekly for household items.

There used to be a dentist where the petrol station were, his name was Flint.

otherwise known as the butcher. I used to visit the Unity near where Freds dancing school was

at the top of Wood St. No make-up on and paid half price when it was a U film and make-up

on to get in for an A film. lol
