It's not cheating at all. 😂🤣 Yes some of the buildings were likely have been taken before demolition. There may be someone who has taken similar photographs. Thought I'd post some which have distinctive features and see how it goes.

So when you see somebody with a photograph or a piece of paper in their hand looking up at a building....😂🤣 Or these days a mobile phone. The number of times I've left a few bemused people looking up to see what I was looking at. These days they probably wouldn't notice with their eyes fixed on their mobile phones. I've even waited until a quiet time of day to stand in the middle of a busy road or rooted in the undergrowth. .

Ponytail
Sally Parkin (nee Bond) and her daughter Mary outside their house in Brightside on Unidentified Street u01195 Sally Parkin, nee Bond was one of 3 sisters and 3 brothers. They went to Toronto where Mary, her daughter grew up; but after the father left home they were deported back to England - Returning to Sheffield, Mary trained as a nurse, specialising in mental health and obtained a distinction in her exams. Mary stayed at Wadsley Asylum (or South Yorkshire Mental Hospital) for most of her career, going elsewhere mainly for additional training and became Deputy Matron. She was offered the Matron's job but declined as she wanted to stay nearer the patients. The matron was Edna Stevenson and the two were great friends on into retirement. Information on back of picture reads, 'William Higgitt, father-in-law of Henry Chambers, Manager of Tinsley Park Colliery, c. 1910', However please see notes below. s10484 Henry Chambers married Hephzibah Higgett in 1852. William (her father) lived at the Tinsley Park Colliery until he retired. Then in the 1861 census is recorded as living at Higgetts Houses on Attercliffe Common and in 1871 on Tinsley Road or Sheffield and Rotherham Road . He died in 1875 so the houses could be in this area. Alternatively the Woodhouse 1893-1894 Directory lists a William Higgitt, No 179 Sutherland Road. Suggestion: Church Street, Ecclesfield. There has been another suggestion it could be the bottom of Yew Lane. On the basis of this it is uncertain whether the date of 1910 is correct or what the connection with William Higgitt is. Hi. I did a 3month study on William Higgitt/Higgett. I found where the family had lived from first coming to Sheffield, till his death and his son's. None of the addresses were Yew Lane.
Edmund
19 hours ago, Ponytail said: Unidentified Property. s46384 Date Period: 1900 1919. My guess for this one: an artist's impression of the planned Crofts Buildings in Campo Lane. The actual buildings were quite different to this when completed, but the road layout is similar, even down to the lamp post on the corner. See Croft Buildings as built In 1898 the City Surveyor prepared for a competition amongst architects to design workmens' dwellings on the flats system for this area, the cost not to exceed £10,000 (nothing more was ever heard of this) - possibly the illustration was from this competition? See Croft Buildings as built That was my thought when I saw it for the first time the other day.. Also looking at: Townhead Street / Hawley Street Flats. 1909. Photographer: Sheffield Corporation Housing Department. s02174 Sometimes you can be misled with an architects drawing that doesn't make it to completion. Can't think of another building in Sheffield around that time.... Unless someone else knows different...

Came up with Greystones, Highgate, Tinsley. 1880 to 1968 but the Tinsley property was nothing like this at all, and it was lately used as a Child Welfare Clinic.
