darnell_ginnal
Can anyone recognise the building in the background of this picture ? The picture was probably taken in the 1940's It features my great grandparents, (faces have been airbrushed for family privacy). My great grandfather worked in the steel industry at Hadfields (East Ecla works, Tinsley).
Heartshome
Hi DG, strong possibility this pic could be, 1950s!! My Gran had a dress like that. The building is very much like a smart modern office building of the time, looking at the long front windows, and the row of trees on the edge of the car park wall, in front of them. Then with a lawn surround and flower beds. Is there a possibility, that it is NOT in Sheffield? A long shot could also be that it is a hotel!! That could explain why there are only a couple of cars in the car park, and why your GGparents are dressed up smart. Can't bring this building to mind anywhere I can think of at the mo.
