Stunmon
It seems that the library in Stocksbridge was built around 1968 but there may have been an earlier one in the 1950s? or not? Does anyone remember?

Does anyone remember? There's a bit of info about an earlier library at Stocksbridge & District History website. It seems that there was a large classroom within the British Hall (noted as an extension to the Ebenezer Chapel), which was "later used as a County Library by the West Riding County Council". The hall is stated to have been closed in 1961. There is also a building marked library on the 1950s survey situated on the north side of Manchester Rd shortly before Ashfield Rd heading in the direction of Stocksbridge from Old Haywoods. It looks like it may still be there as a vets.
