I believe that my uncle Walter Morton may have been landlord of this establishment at some time. Possibly 30s or 40s. Does anyone have any paths they could go down to find out for me? Would be most grateful!!!

Yep!

He was licensee from 5th Nov 1935 to 16 Mar 1937. It's generally the case that the licensee would be in place shortly before the transfer with interim authority and, similarly, have left a bit before the "out" date.

It's possible the business wasn't viable at that time...the previous landlord, Henry Hatton had been at the pub for almost 30 years...He went bankrupt in late 1935 stating that he had lost 90% of his trade to the Crookes WMC built 300yds away in 1920.
