My great grandmother and grandmother both went to Springfield in the early 1900s. I wondered if anyone had any information or photos from this time. Thanks in advance.

I do not know if anyone is interested but I attended Springfield school for a night school course in Domestic Engineering. Ifound the building very substantial in its build but also very boring uninspired building..

The one thing that was very interesting was the central heating system, it was a high pressure system which was very efficient. The pipework was very heavy duty steel with a unique system of joining the pipes to holfd the high pressures the system operated.  This system was used in a lot of old factories using the pipework as part of the structure of the biuilding as well as for heating them. Maybe someone else could tell us more about this.
