Lyn 1
Can anyone point me in the direction of where Talbot Road Woodhouse was please? They appear to be back to back houses. 3 ct 4 house Talbot Rd Woodhouse c 1923. I have tried on Picture Sheffield but can only find Talbot Cottages on Tilford Rd Woodhouse. Many thanks Lyn
RLongden
Talbot Road became Tilford Road sometime in the 1930’s. Here is a 1924 map showing Talbot Road and then a 1935 map showing Tilford Road By the 60’s the Rec’ side of the road had been demolished and turned into flats. Looks like the only courtyards would have been on the school side on the corner, where it joins Station Road? I have several books of old Woodhouse with photos, so if you’re interested I’d be happy to take a look to see if there are any more images / maps in there? Lyn 1
Many thanks, that is really helpful. I am researching a family tree for somone so may get back to you at a later date. The other address on the marriage cert is Hooley road which I believe no longer has any houses on it. Someone did give me details of where that was so I am basically looking for any photos of the houses really. By 1939 they had moved to Aston and Aston Terrace.
